Week 48 - Life In Lockdown

Hello everyone!

You are probably wondering about us missionaries!

First thing is first, we are safe, healthy and alive! All is well!

So everyone probably already knows, but we are currently on lockdown and have been for the past week and a bit. Let me tell you, these have been trying times, especially since it's been sunny everyday since we've been on lockdown, whereas before, it was always raining and cloudy. In time I have come to see that this actually a huge tender mercy from the Lord. To be able to see that sun everyday even though we are stuck in our flats for most of the day has really helped me.

I've had quite a bit of time to think about things, like how blessed I am to serve the Lord in this unique time, how the gospel has blessed my life and continues to bless my life, how I can help God's children come unto Him - my family, friends and everybody - really. I am grateful to all who have reached out and continue to reach out. It really does mean a lot!

I know that quite a few people are scared about this virus, but I tell you this. There is peace in Christ. As we put our faith in the Lord, he will bring hope and peace into our lives. I have seen this in my own life, and recently in other's lives around me. I'm extremely grateful for His apostles and prophets who are leading us and the world as they continue to bring us messages of joy, hope and peace. This will pass, and maybe this is a time for us -all of us- to learn to rely on our Saviour more. He knows us, He loves us, and can and will help us as we turn to Him and put our faith and trust in Him.

If you have time this weekend, please consider joining us for a session of General Conference where you can hear God's chosen prophet and apostles speak words of tuth and conmfort during this difficult time.

I love this gospel, and am so blessed to know these truths. I invite all who are reading to count your many blessing, and you will come to see that God's hand really is in your lives and no matter how small it may be, it is always there. You just need to look for it!

Love you all,

Elder Jakob
